Not so Fake!

When I liked you,

You called me Desperate.

When I brought you flowers,

You called me cheap.

When I sent you things,

You called me creepy.

When I fought myself to be with you,

You called me pricey.

When I cleared my schedule for you,

You called me jobless.

When I embraced you,

You said you liked it too.

When I confessed my love to you,

You said you never felt the same way.

When I tried to move on so you could be happy,

You called me FAKE!

What is this puzzle of life?

I am lost for someone and yet discovering myself time to time.

I bow down to you, oh! myself…

Because you’re the one to guide me,

and you’re the one to try me!

This is a poem by me, hope you all liked it. Thanks for visiting and reading 🙂

The stories Behind the Medals.

“Today I will run what you will not so that tomorrow I will run what you cannot”

Every object has some value. The Television u watch, the car you drive, or the cellphone you use, etc. But there are few objects which You can’t buy. I’m not talking about emotions here, I am talking about objects. Like the trophy you win after winning a contest, The certificate you get after completing a course.

I would like to talk about medals. But not just any medals. These medals are earned after running killometers of track. After training for more than a year, and after running hundereds of killometers. Yes, I am talking about the marathon finisher’s medal. Running a marathon is a great achievement in itself and finishing is another. It’s not as easy as it sounds. It takes great endurance, strenght and most of all a will to run.

Marathoners don’t run for the sake of running. They run for a cause for which the marathon is held, they run for their health, they run along people who they are trying to make run, and most of all they run to enjoy the run! It’s a beauty to be one of them.

Let me tell you what I’ve experienced. As I like running I joined a running club called , Lokhandwala running club (LRC). On the Very first day I went for a 6km run as I was used to run that distance. But during the run I noticed something very different and learned something new too. As I was running with my group I could see other random people running along the streets. They started cheering the random people. Clapping, cheering and motivating each other up. I learned, “to be a runner you should know to respect other runners as well” and my entire perpective changed about a way of life.

Recently Mumbai’s biggest marathon was held. The Standard chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM).But I couldn’t participate as I was underage to run, But almost every person from the group went for it. Just 2 days before the big event I met everyone as usual for the daily run and boy Oh boy! I wanted to run the marathon so bad. The positivity and the surrounding is so energetic I cannot even explain. After they returned from the marathon. I asked few of them to tell me their experience in brief.

So here I have few words shared by the actual Marathoners who did Half Marathon(21km) and the Full marathon (42km)

1) Nivedita Desai:

After 10 years of running 11 half marathons and 2 full marathons, I felt I was in prime form. But one seemingly innocous muscle pull completely derailed me in mid training. SCMM 2015, the year was to be my personal best, became a gruelling battle of will, of mind over body, which I wowed to conquer even before the start. My mind was resolute as I started across the start line and felt ready for anything. After cruising along for 15 km, the body started giving up. I carried on in a run-walk style, ignoring the pain, focussing only on crossing each km milestone, until I reached the finish line. I felt elated! I had finished in 6:43, what was my most challenging race!

I had seen another side of SCMM, with glimpses of people’s kindness and encouragement, camaraderie amongst fellow runners, the support to first time runners I felt blessed and thankful to my family and friends for the love and support that got me through a race that almost never happened.

2) Irfan Mohamed

“I missed my chance in 2009 of running a small distance at scmm, basically the dream run, which was dream for me. Come in 2014, I saw that the stanchart mumbai marathon in 2015 will be on my birthday, hence I promised myself on my 28th birthday tat come what may, on 18th January 2015 I will go the distance of 21kms……
The day arrived with wishes pouring in frm twilight time, friends family all wishing me on my bday. But I was too too tensed, as I have never done a half marathon distance even in training, solely cos I wanted to do it on my bday. The run, cant say much cos it was more of a celebration emotion going on in my mind where in I was remmbering what everyone who has run scmm telling, enjoy the run it brings out the best of the city in terms of support, cheering and mostly runners world…..I started at my usual pace, maintaining itall along till half way mark…..its like a sea of runners, where only u see runners of all age groups of all races running side by side…..timing matters onky for those who are professionals but amongst the participants, more than 60% are those who have running as a passion…..they are doctors vendors businessman actors even dabbawallahs…..
But mostly they are mumbaikars and me myself being a mumbaikar felt proud of running the STANDARD CHARTERED MUMBAI MARATHON HELD ON 18th JANUARY 2015….., on my birthday……I could have started my day in a better manner, my first ever 21.097kms in a good time of 2hrs and 20mins…….with fun along the entire route and a smile on my face…..I cherish the medal that I received for completion and the bib, its gonna be a memorable one for me……truly passionately I will keep running for my life……as I am an LRCian………”

10 Facts About: Mangalyaan (MOM) India’s Mission To Mars.

India made a history today by successfully orbiting around Mars. Its mission called “Mars Orbiter Mission”  (MOM) created a history by making India the world’s first country to orbit around the red planet in its first try and the first Asian country to orbit the red planet. The orbiter is called “Mangalyaan” who’s objective is: Exploration of Mars surface features, morphology, mineralogy and Martian atmosphere by indigenous scientific instruments. Here are few facts about this Mission of India!

1) The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) which is also known as Mangalyaan is a planned Mars orbiter, was launched in November 2013 by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The mission aims to develop the technologies required for design, planning, management and operations of an interplanetary mission.

2) This was India’s first mission to Mars and the official countdown for blast-off of the Indian orbiter, Mangalyaan, began at 06:08 am on November 3, 2013.

3) Assembly of the PSLV-XL launch vehicle, designated C-25, started on 5 August 2013. The integration of the five scientific instruments was completed at ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore, and the finished spacecraft was shipped to Sriharikotta on 2 October 2013.

4) The satellite’s development was completed in a record 15 months.

5) On October 19, 2013, ISRO chairperson K Radhakrishnan announced that the launch had to be postponed by a week due to delay of a crucial telemetry ship reaching Fiji Islands. The launch was rescheduled for November 5, 2013.

6) The main objective of this mission is to develop the technologies required for design, planning, management and operations of an interplanetary mission, comprising the following major tasks like design and realisation of a Mars orbiter with a capability to perform Earth bound manoeuvres, cruise phase of 300 days, Mars orbit insertion / capture, and on-orbit phase around Mars.

7) The satellite will also help in deep space communication, navigation, mission planning and management and will also incorporate autonomous features to handle contingency situations.

8) The spacecraft’s dry mass is 500 kilogrames and it will carry 850 kilograms (1,870 lb) of propellant and oxidiser. The main engine uses the bi-propellant combination mono-methylhydrazine and dinitrogen tetroxide for orbit insertion and other manoeuvres. The probe is expected to arrive in Mars orbit in September 2014 approximately at the same time as NASA’s MAVEN orbiter.

9) On September 24, the Mangalyaan entered Mars orbit in its very first attempt. India joins the elite club of nations, i.e., the US, Russia and Europe to reach Mars Orbit.

10) The Mission was executed in 15 months at a cost of Rs 450 crore ($74 million).

A Friend From The Virtual World.

I used to play an online game. It is called, Runescape. I was super addicted to it and at times I used to play 15 hours non-stop. I sound like a person who had no social life or a person who wasted most of his childhood behind online gaming. But there was a reason I loved that game so much. Besides the reason the game was amazing and very entertaining, I loved it so much because of the friends I made there. They were very kind to me and we were like best buddies. Few were from the US, UK, and few from India itself but different states. I used to chat with them, meet them in the game, Train together, do quests together, etc. One thing they taught me was how to be helpful towards someone. Few names I would like to take are- Aditya, Leena, Candy, etc. But among these people there was a person I met when I was a noob called Shikha. She is from India itself but lives in a different state. It was very weird at first. But then we started chatting frequently. She gave me this emerald 4 years back which still lies in my bank and reminds me of her. Later we sort of tried long distance which didn’t work out. LOL. But our friendship continued. And as time went by we became pretty close friends. Though we never met but the social technology helped us to be connected. We shared stuff, spoke about weird things, helped each other out(to be honest 90% she was the one to help me out) but her sense of humor is something which is amazing. Finding a person with such a humor is difficult. Probably any boy will fall in love with such a girl. She pretended to be very strong and bold. She is, but at times everyone loses their strong side for sometime. I could notice it, But she rarely accepted that. She could understand me more than any person I know. And that too without even meeting me even once. I liked her company and I still do! We sort of had an argument recently where she got pretty mad at me. And she still is, I am sorry for what I said. But, everyone takes their time 🙂 I am very thankful to jagex for creating Runescape so could meet all these lovely people and Shikha. I might sound I am not over her yet. But that’s not true. We are more like friends and always be.

Reason Why I Started Blogging.

I am a teenager living in India. A country with a population of 1.2 billion. In India there is a huge diversity of religions and every religion has its own view. Amidst all this I am an atheist. Looking at so many people with their views and things happening around, I thought to start writing a blog. Where I can explain what I see and think about it. Hence my blog’s name is ” Life Through My Eyes.” I have already started blogging since 2 months and till now I have got a positive feedback about it. Blogging is a powerful source of writing. Where you can express yourself through blogging. And i chose to blog because I think I can express myself much better through writing skills.

Rainy Season in Mumbai.

After a month’s delay here we Mumbaikar’s have it, “monsoon.” As Mumbai is a coastal area it receives heavy rainfall every year. On an average Mumbai receives 2,146.6 mm to 2,457 mm annually. This kind of rainfall affects everyone, from the stars of Bollywood to the people living in the slum areas.

Mumbai during rainy season.

One of the best way Mumbaikar’s enjoy rainy season is by eating hot Pakoras or Vada pavs followed by tea with friends or family cracking jokes and sharing stories with each other probably related to rainy season. And of course there will be that one person  who will say the same story every year and expect people to laugh. 😛

Kids are on the streets/grounds playing football in the rain getting dirty in the mud and slipping, sliding in the muddy water but still enjoying it like anything. You can see runners running along Marine drive because nothing can give a runner more pleasure than running in the rain. Few like to enjoy the rain by sitting in the balcony or the window of their house drinking coffee, eating donuts and listening to music or reading a book probably.

Me enjoying the view from my house.

And then there is romance, nothing like the movies Kuch kuch hota hai, dil toh pagal hai or dil wale dulhaniya le jayenge. Couples sit at Band stand or Marine drive enjoying the view, the weather and the presence of each other. Some enjoy it by sitting near the beach drinking garam chai (hot tea). Some enjoy it  by sitting at home and sending text messages/shayaris to each other maybe because they don’t like Rain or lets face it! they are lazy. Even old couples are on their A-game, they sing songs for each other, talk about their extra romantic love lives when they were young and sometimes everything is followed by a dance on the song “Pyaar hua iqraar hua,”Couples hardly visit the theaters as its much beautiful outside.

Couple enjoying at Bandstand.

Dogs love getting wet in the rain but the thunder lighting scares them. So its very important to take good care of your pet during rainy season.

26th July 2005  is marked as one of the worst day Mumbai has ever seen. The entire city was flooded due to heavy rains and the entire city had stopped for a while. But, in 2 days it was back on track. Rains do cause pothole formation on the road and it also affects people who travel by Local trains or Best buses. Mother’s at home are worried about the topic “how to dry clothes.”

What ever it must be, rainy season is one of the best time to visit Mumbai and every person living in this city is proud to be a MUMBAIKAR!
